Director Shaz Malik

I firmly believe that one does not require exceptional skills or qualifications to assist others, rather, compassion and love are the key attributes needed to provide help. Over the past few years, I have been dedicated to supporting individuals in need. In collaboration with like-minded individuals, we have formed a small team to offer assistance to our community in Chorley

Meet The Helping Hand Chorley Team

Director Mohmed Esa

In the early days of my career, I embraced the role of a youth worker, dedicating my time and energy to making a difference in the lives of young people. As a youth worker, I actively listened to their concerns, provided guidance, and offered a supportive environment where they could thrive. I aimed to instill valuable life skills and promote positive decision-making.

Director Rashid Sohail

Our commitment to the Chorley community runs deep, as we understand the importance of working together to address the needs and challenges faced by its residents. We firmly believe that by actively participating in community initiatives and lending a helping hand, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals

Senior Manager Roshan Ismail

I had the pleasure of working with children ranging from 3 months to 11-year-olds at a nursery, and an after-school club. It was a rewarding experience nurturing and guiding them through their early years. In my previous role, I spent 2 years working in a debt management company. During this time, I had the opportunity to review individuals' financial situations, providing valuable advice, and assist them in organising and repaying their debts and loans. It was fulfilling to help people regain control over their finances and achieve financial stability.

Manager Amy Hodkinson

Being a part of the emergency response team at 111 has given me the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. Furthermore, my background as a qualified swimming instructor has allowed me to extend my impact beyond emergency situations. By teaching children how to swim, I have not only helped them develop a valuable life skill but also developed a sense of helping people.

Team Manager Abdul Javeed

Following the implementation of the taxiwatch scheme earlier this year, I had the privilege of being presented with an incredible opportunity. On the fateful day of March 2nd, 2024, I found myself in a situation where I was able to rescue an individual from a blazing vehicle. The intensity of emotions that surged through me during that heroic act has ignited a newfound sense of empowerment within me to help.

Team Manager Salika Asif

With more than 15 years of experience in the field of mental health, witnessing individuals regain their well-being has been an incredibly rewarding journey. I believe it is essential for all of us to lend a helping hand and provide support to those in need. Through my business, I am proud to contribute to the Chorley Homeless Projects by providing food assistance.

Graphic Designer Ayaz Malik

I find myself trapped in an endless loop of nominations from Shaz. It seems like there's no escape from being constantly chosen for the same role. Despite feeling overwhelmed at times, I can say am part of something in Chorley which is giving back to our community, which is rewarding.
